About Us

Lifting Up Hope is a non-profit 501c3 organization located in Bellingham, WA.  We were formed in September 2010 and are comprised of a small board of committed caring, passionate people who have all had transforming experiences in Haiti.  Since that time, we have had opportunities in other countries and changed our name to reflect that in 2022.

Our initial project was a small children's home in St Marc, Haiti, 50 miles north of Port au Prince. During a 5 year period, Lifting Up Haiti provided support to the home's director, Jean Buteau and his wife Gertrude. They provided a small family centered home for many children who were abandoned by parents or were orphans.

We are currently partnering with a few organizations that have the same philosophy and goals as we do.  These include some that are doing medical work, as well as nutritional programs for women and children, feeding programs and orphanage support.

We are particularly excited about learning and researching more about the Moringa tree, an amazing tree that grows prolifically in tropical climates and can provide a wide variety of rich nutritional sources to both animals and humans. Dr Troutman is currently working on a research project  showing the medical benefits of the powder in Maternal and infant health.
